Product UX/UI

Survey Channels
While Retently and AskNicely offer similar support for survey channels, Retently has a more convenient approach to them. To configure an in-app web survey, for example, just head to the Campaigns section and follow the instructions. With AskNicely, you have to set up the web integration and configure the survey separately. Also, AskNicely’s SMS surveys can be a bit off-putting to your responders since they are sent a shortened link which they have to tap on.
Easy-to-Manage NPS Campaigns
With AskNicely, it can be a bit difficult to keep track of all surveys since you don’t have a dedicated section to NPS campaigns. You can configure some aspects of your NPS campaigns in the Setup and Edit Survey sections, but not much else. Also, not being able to organize your surveys separately is a huge inconvenience.
Retently, on the other hand, gives you access to a straightforward way to create and manage NPS campaigns - all in one place. You can configure workflows, targeted audiences, scheduling, notifications, and individual templates with just a few clicks.

Highly Customizable Survey Templates
AskNicely features some decent level of survey customization, but it’s overall pretty lacking if you’re looking to fully personalize and brand your NPS surveys. You can edit the subject line, question, logo, button color, footer, and scale labels, but that’s about it.
Retently lets you do all of that, and much more. Besides just coloring the buttons, you can also color-code them. You can add intro and outro texts, use up to 9 fonts when typing your questions, and even tweak the Unsubscribe text.
No Survey Branding
With AskNicely, you’ll always have the “Powered by AskNicely” and an AskNicely logo on your surveys, even in their most expensive plans. If you pick Retently as an AskNicely alternative, the surveys you send out will represent only your company’s brand.
Complete Data Segmentation
AskNicely gives you a way to segment customers when you add them - you either manually add a segment or use custom properties in the CSV file you upload. While it’s not a bad way to segment your audience, Retently lets you do that, and also gives you the possibility to segment your campaign audience with filters based on custom properties, integration segments, and tags.
24/7 Live Support
Retently offers 24/7 live chat support, so you’re always covered if you have any questions or encounter any problems. AskNicely, however, doesn’t offer round-the-clock support, and it can sometimes take a few hours to get a response from them due to time zone difference. Still, if you get the Enterprise plan, they will provide premium support.
